"It's better to look at the sky than live there. Such an empty place; so vague. Just a country where the thunder goes and things disappear." (Holly Golightly, Breakfast at Tiffany's)

Hello, I’m Donald Cameron, and this is my film blog. I spend the vast majority of my spare time watching films, it is probably the main activity in life after sleep. My movie claim to fame would be that I have seen every film in the 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die book.

I started this blog with intentions to use it as a place for articles about the movies, discussing a particular aspect of cinema, and making lots of lists of movies based around themes and genres. I like lists.

I’m 34, Scottish, live in Scotland, and I’m currently learning Italian with the ambition that one day I’ll be able to watch the likes of Cinema Paradiso without subtitles. I’m also a photographer, doing mainly artistic black and white landscape images (which I’ve won a few awards for), so if you’re interested my website is Monophotography.co.uk

Spoiler-free and twist-free

One of the most annoying things I find with movie reviews is when they give away a major spoiler or plot twist without warning. I always believe the less you know about a film, the more you will enjoy it. So as far as humanly possible I try to avoid them, or mark them clearly if necessary.
