Attention New Yorkers! Rare 'Carol For Another Christmas' Screening

Readers of my previous article, 101 Christmas Movies You Must See Before You Die, will no doubt have noticed my inclusion of the barely known film Carol For Another Christmas. A fascinatingly strange and bleak interpretation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, turned into a propaganda picture about the impact of nuclear war, and featuring the likes of Peter Sellers and Sterling Hayden.

On December 16th the NY Obscura Society Cinema Club will be hosting a special screening of this film in New York, and I’m pleased to have provided the film to them for that screening. This is an extremely rare event, in fact almost certainly the first time it has ever been shown to the public on the big screen, and it may never happen again. If you are in the Brooklyn/NY area don’t miss it, you can get more info and buy tickets here. If I didn’t live 3000 miles away I’d be going myself.

  1. Like you I live on the wrong continent. Shame because I'd love to experience this one on the big screen.

    1. Yes it would have been interesting to see. Still at least I found any kind of copy, it's generated quite a bit of interest since I put it on Youtube, surprising for such an obscure film.
